PWSC SELECT TRYOUTS
All players are encouraged to tryout even if they are unsure if they want to play on a select team. There is no upfront commitment needed to participate in the tryout.
Select coaches will evaluate each player’s strengths and weaknesses and make a determination on the abilities for fit for a well-rounded team. Some of the skills evaluated include technical ability (ball control, passing, tackling, dribbling, heading, shooting, shielding), physical ability (coordination, speed, agility, endurance, power, reaction, flexibility), tactical ability (awareness, position, communication, decisions, use of space, support, vision) and psychological ability (attitude, concentration, confidence, motivation, courage, toughness, temperament).
Well rounded teams with a variety of player skills (i.e. offensive vs defensive) will be formed depending upon the number of players in each age group. The roster maximum for U11-U12 is 14 players. The roster maximum for U13-U19 is 22 players. Offer dates are set by WYSA and no club can make offers or accept registrations prior to those dates.

REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS
Register online prior to the tryout. Registration will open towards the end of May.

ACCEPT OFFER
A written invitation to play on PWSC Select will be emailed to the parent/guardian listed on the Registration form.
Offer Dates for 2023: (TBD for 2024)
11U-15U – June 16, 2023, at noon
16U-19U – June 23, 2023, at noon
Each player invited to play will have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer.
In the event of a decline, the next player on the list will be invited to be on the team. After all offers have been accepted, all other players who have tried out will be notified in writing that the team has been formed.
